Elena Bruce
A Bay Area native and recent grad, Elena Bruce received her dance training at competitive dance studios in Northern California. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and double minors in Asian American Studies and Film and TV from the University of California, Los Angeles in the spring of 2025. Elena specializes in contemporary, modern and floorwork based movement but also trains in various other techniques. She currently teaches and choreographs for various advanced competitive and non-competitive dance teams in both Northern and Southern California. Currently she works with Diavolo’s educational company “Volo” as well as teaches kids both dance and martial arts fundamentals. During her collegiate time, she has had the privilege to be featured in multiple UCLA MFA pieces, Senior capstones, and department performances, centering around modern and contemporary dance. In her own movement practice and creation, she works to fuse her athletic contemporary style with martial arts training for dance performance and entertainment. Outside of dance, Elena also trains in martial arts. She specializes in Kung Fu but has experience in numerous other forms such as Tricking, Silat, Krav Maga, Kali, Capoeira, and Hapkido. She actively competes in Kung Fu (regionally and nationally) and plans to continue to earn higher certification in various other martial arts systems in the future.
